Is this issue really fixed in Hibernate 5.1.0 final? It does not function, when I attempted using that version of Hibernate in WildFly 10.0.0 final along with Weld 2.3.2 final.

The issue here is not all Hibernate. This issue addressed the Hibernate side of the problem. The rest is a CDI (Weld)/WildFly issue which is not yet resolved mainly because the best way to resolve that part of it is still being discussed. The linked WildFly issue tracks that discussion/effort. In the meantime I added a hack solution in Hibernate that ought to allow this to all work together until the rest is properly addressed on the CDI (Weld)/WildFly side; that is represented by https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-10477#icft=HHH-10477
